Selected Works: Paintings 2024–2025
This collection brings together a selection of my paintings created over the past year, exploring material, atmosphere, and spatial memory through form and color. Each piece reflects an evolving dialogue between observation and abstraction; moments where architecture, landscape, and emotion intersect. These works represent a personal exploration of visual language, developed alongside my architectural works.
Shophouse Row
Oil on canvas, 600x400mm
Reflecting the traditional shophouses in Singapore, it is important that we remember our roots and preserve parts of the urban fabric. Shophouses have served merchants since the 1950s, forming a sense of belonging amongst locals. This scene depicts the nightlife at shophouses where people gather to eat, drink, and socialize, while lights from corporate buildings shine in the background, reminiscent of the mixed architectural styles in Singapore.
Carrousel Gardens
Oil on canvas,600x400mm
A hazy night abroad in Paris where the viewer appears to be strolling along the gardens, while figures appear minute compared to the lamp posts lining the walkways. It is important to be present and appreciate the beauty in simpler times.
